A trial was held in Decatur County Superior Court April term 1859, recorded in the Superior Court Records, Decatur Co., Ga., Book A., pp. 82-85. From the testimony given by the victims family who were present at the time of the murder, Grip was found guilty and hanged in June 1859. Hill was retried in Superior Court because of a Writ of Error in trial and found guilty. Hill was hanged in September 1859.
